Gill Girard
Gill is a keen walker and spends hours walking the Guernsey cliffs, coasts and lanes. She has also gathered a wealth of walking experience from the gentle Chianti countryside to the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Gill was born in Guernsey went to school on the Island. She spent her early adult life working in the catering industry in the UK. She returned to Guernsey in 1987 and after developing her interest in the local history gained Visit Guernsey Bronze, Silver, and then Gold Tour Guide Accreditation.
Gill has enjoyed access to a large collection of literature about the history of Guernsey handed down through the family. It has been a great source of information and she finds it fascinating to brouse through. Gill says "I love my island and I'm very enthusiastic about it. I enjoy passing on the snippets of history I keep unfolding."
